


We often lose the small details in nature as we walk through forests, trails and meadows. This image was found on the side of Tenaya Lake in Yosemite in a late afternoon light.

I first saw this scene in the harsh afternoon light and returned the next day only to find that the light was too bright even in the morning. I woke early the next morning before sunrise and waited for the perfect mix of color from the sun reflecting off the mountains is it rose behind me.

There is a certain sense of inner peace found when sitting by a grove of aspens. In a gentle wind the leaves produce a glass-like chime like no other sound in nature.

Mono Lake is a favorite site in California and the edge of the lake has provided inspiration to many photographers. This image presented itself after hours of wandering the shoreline. It is a lesson in letting the images come to you.

The abandoned mining town in Bodie, CA has many stories. When it was closed and all inhabitants asked to leave in 1962, it was common to take only what was necessary leaving behind as trash what days before was furniture, cups and family heirlooms.

I found this grove of Aspens in the early light just outside of Yosemite. I waited for an hour until the light came over the mountain and reflected back on the quiet grove giving them a sense of glowing radiance.
