
Finding building materials in the early part of the last century was difficult. The layers of pallets, short boards and random configuration was done to help keep the snow and cold weather from the inhabitants of this small building at 9500 ft above sea level in Bodie, CA.

Houses on the open plains used any means possible to insulate the basic structures. The newspaper, shingles are an example of survival worn away by snow, wind and time. This abandoned building by roadside outside of Lee Vining, CA offered dozens of interesting images which deconstructed years of living.

Left years ago by the inhabitants, this structure has not been immune to time, weather and even graffiti. Found outside of Lee Vining, CA, it was a plethora of enchanting images in both color and black and white.
