
Finding building materials in the early part of the last century was difficult. The layers of pallets, short boards and random configuration was done to help keep the snow and cold weather from the inhabitants of this small building at 9500 ft above sea level in CA.

Houses on the open plains used any means possible to insulate the basic structures. The newspaper, shingles are an example of survival worn away by snow, wind and time.

Left years ago by the inhabitants, this structure has not been immune to time, weather and even graffiti.
